Universal banks in India have traditionally been the go-to sector to play on any economic recovery. This was based on the thesis that credit is the oil that lubricates the engine of economic activity.

In our previous post on the Nifty 50 outlook, we had mentioned that the short-term technical outlook for the index was positive and that the index could head to the 18,000-18,300 range.
